Bacardi is a family owned spirits company that has more than 200 brands and labels. Founded in 1862, it now has sales in more than 150 countries. Bacardi?s black, open-winged fruit bat logo is world-famous. Don Facundo, the founder, himself invented the logo, which at the time symbolized self-confidence and brotherhood. Bacardi Rum has 3 main flavors - Bacardi Select (Dark Rum), Bacardi Superior (White Rum) and Bacardi Gold (Gold Rum). The rum has a sweet and fruity taste with notes of vanilla.

Malibu is made with Caribbean rum and has a coconut flavor. The owner, Pernod Ricard, calls it a 'flavored rum'. There are many different versions of Malibu rum which are flavored with various tropical fruits such as banana, pineapple, passion fruit, island melon and mango. Also, there is a mingle with mint, known as Malibu Fresh, tequila known as Malibu Red and a double strength version known as Malibu Black.

Captain Morgan

Named after the 17th-century Welsh privateer of the Caribbean, Sir Henry Morgan, Captain Morgan is a spiced rum which is marketed in India by Diageo. Since 2011, the label has used the slogan 'To Life, Love and Loot'. This rum is distilled from sugarcane and then is aged in oak barrels for up to a year, which adds a golden color and character to it. After that, the flavors and spices are added. The variants available in India are Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum and Captain Morgan Black Jamaica Rum.

Havana Club

Created in Cuba in 1934, Havana Club is one of the best-selling rum brands. It is the 5th largest rum brand in the world and is sold in over 120 countries and is bottled in India since 2008. El Dorado

Produced by Demerara Distillers in Guyana, El Dorado is a range of superb Demerara rums which have consistently won the highest International awards. Its unique taste of burnt sugar and oak wood is mostly because of the tropical climate of the lush country of Guyana. The aging process is greatly increased by the steady temperature and high humidity

Sailor Jerry

Sailor Jerry, originally an American tattoo artist, started Sailor Jerry Ltd. in 1999 which produced an array of things along with Sailor Jerry Rum. This is one of the top favorite spiced rum having a fragrance of vanilla that makes an incredible spiced mojito. The recipe was recently changed and made slightly less sweet but spicier. It has a decent amber color with a bit of a red tinge.

Ron Matusalem

Ron Matusalem is a Caribbean premium rum which was started by the Camp brothers in 1872 as a family affair and is now produced in the Dominican Republic. During the 1950s, the brand was one of the top premium rums in Cuba and main aromas are caramel, chocolate, fruity, floral, phenolic/vanilla and nutty. The key to its complexity is the Solera aging process where various mature rums are blended together carefully.

Ron Zacapa Centenario

Produced in Guatemala, Ron Zacapa Centenario is a premium rum with complex flavors which is distributed and marketed by Diageo. It was created in 1976 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Zacapa, a town in eastern Guatemala and was the result of the blending, stabilization and maturing processes of long-aged rums. The rum won first place in the premium rums category 4 years in a row at the International Rum Festival and is the first rum to be included in the International Rum Festival's Hall of Fame.

Ending the list with the most celebrated rum in India, Old Monk was introduced in 1954 and is a dark strong rum. The rum is dark brown in color and has a slight vanilla robust flavor. It is blended and aged for a minimum of 7 years. The rum is produced in Ghaziabad and without any advertising, it has been the biggest IMFL brand for many years.
